Keith Magness (Wavechasers/APL) and Nathan Witherly of the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary successfully recovered the NEMO glider 22 miles off of La Push this afternoon. It had been conducting long transects from the Cha-Ba buoy to about 150 km offshore since April. Many thanks to Nathan and the Sanctuary folks for the use of their RIB for the recovery, and to graduate student Andy Pickering (Wavechasers/APL) and Jennifer Hagen of the Quileute nation for their help in coordinating the movement of the recovery equipment to La Push. |
